Breathing with Bronchitis

Switching from the winter season to spring brings a lot of changes, including some seasonal allergies. For some patients, that includes bronchitis.

How does bronchitis develop?

Bronchitis occurs when there is inflammation/ irritation of the bronchial tubes, which help bring oxygen to the lungs.

Symptoms include persistent coughing, along with a sore throat, chest pain, and even back and/or neck pain. With rest and treatment, this case disappears, along with the inflammation.

What about chronic bronchitis?

Chronic bronchitis, however, differs slightly from typical bronchitis. Often called “smoker’s cough”, chronic bronchitis results from the consistent intake of cigarette/ cigar smoke.

This condition lasts longer than typical bronchitis, causing long-term damage to the lungs, and patients suffering from it will cough up yellow mucus.

Aside from irritated coughing, patients will have difficulty breathing due to inflammation and thickened lining in the bronchial tubes. All these result in scarring in the lungs.

Here’s where chiropractic care can help!

Both cases of bronchitis can heal with time, and receiving chiropractic care helps speed up that process. At Diamond Chiropractic, our exceptional team provides the answers to feeling healthier. Through regular adjustments and lifestyle advice, patients will be on the fast track to better health… and better breathing.
